What are Supportive Measures? 

Supportive measures are free, individualized, and reasonably available services designed to help individuals maintain or restore access to education or work opportunities at the University of Montana, Western. 

Supportive measures are available to anyone who has experienced discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, or retaliation — as well as to individuals involved in a related process. They may be offered regardless of whether a formal complaint is filed. 

If you are unsure what support may be helpful, the Title IX Coordinator can assist you in exploring options tailored to your specific needs.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Supportive measures are handled with care and respect for your privacy. The Title IX Coordinator shares information only with those who need it to implement the support. For students, this may include partners like Housing, faculty, academic leaders, or Provost Office. For employees, coordination may involve supervisors, the Provost’s Office, or VP of Administration and Finance. Information is shared only as needed to provide effective support.
