The LC supports all UMW students—on campus or online. Whether you’re looking to understand course concepts better, strengthen your foundational skills, or refine already strong work into something truly excellent, the Learning Center supports every stage of your academic development at UMW.Â
Who are UMW Academic Coaches?
Our peer academic coaches are UMW students who were specifically selected by their departments. Sure, they performed well in their classes and know the subject matter—but more than that—they’re connected with faculty, careful listeners, effective communicators, and committed to helping you get the most out of your education.

The Learning Center offers a quiet place to study, computer workstations, printing, and an abundance of good vibes from peer academic coaches who are dedicated to supporting your success.
Where is the LC?
The Learning Center is located in the lower level of the Library—we also offer online sessions, which you can select when you make an appointment.

Come to the Learning Center if you want to talk with someone else who’s already taken the class you’re in class successfully—whether you’re acing the class or you want help working through some concepts.
